Welcome to First Pres SLO
We are more than just an old stone church on the corner of Marsh and Morro. We are an inclusive, caring community that comes together each week to hear the teachings of Jesus Christ and celebrate the grace of God. We are a safe place where strangers become friends, the wounded can find spiritual care, and the skeptic can ask questions. We live as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, serving others in our community and around the world.
“What Every Living Thing Needs”
Join us as we explore what all living things need — shelter, food, water, air, and community — and how we can show compassion for God's creation. Using Psalm 104, we'll discover the interconnectedness of the whole earth and learn to become sustainers and participants in God's work. Through Bible stories, music, crafts, play, and compassion in action, we'll grow in awareness, gratitude, and wonder. All kids ages 3 through 6th grade are welcome!
JAZZ VESPERS CONCERT SERIES
Join us August 23 at 4 p.m.
The Pat Kelley Trio, featuring Dylan Johnson on bass and Darrell Voss on drums, performs live. Guitarist Pat Kelley built a successful Los Angeles career as a studio and touring musician, recording artist, and educator, performing with George Benson, Natalie Cole, Dave Brubeck, Burt Bacharach, Ronnie & Hubert Laws, and David Benoit, among others, and taught for decades on the USC Thornton School of Music faculty. The concert is free, with donations appreciated, followed by a reception.
