Welcome to First Pres SLO
We are more than just an old stone church on the corner of Marsh and Morro. We are an inclusive, caring community that comes together each week to hear the teachings of Jesus Christ and celebrate the grace of God. We are a safe place where strangers become friends, the wounded can find spiritual care, and the skeptic can ask questions. We live as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, serving others in our community and around the world.
JAZZ VESPERS CONCERT SERIES
Join us June 14 at 4 p.m.
Internationally-acclaimed vocalist and recording artist Inga Swearingen will be joined by the renowned pianist Marshall Otwell.
The concert is free/donations appreciated. Craig Updegrove, Ph.D. will provide the meditation and a reception with refreshments will follow.
“What Every Living Thing Needs”
Join us as we explore what all living things need — shelter, food, water, air, and community — and how we can show compassion for God's creation. Using Psalm 104, we'll discover the interconnectedness of the whole earth and learn to become sustainers and participants in God's work. Through Bible stories, music, crafts, play, and compassion in action, we'll grow in awareness, gratitude, and wonder. All kids ages 3 through 6th grade are welcome!
